Singer, composer and lyricist Aili Ikonen is one of the most in-demand jazz vocalists in Finland, praised for her sensitive yet strong interpretation, wide vocal range and thoroughly flawless scat technique. She was awarded the prestigious Yrjö Award from Finnish Jazz Federation in 2025.
Ikonen has released five solo albums: Laulan (2016), Piirrä minut (2017), Suru ei oo suora viiva (2020), Helposti palavaa (2023) and Valo, recorded with Oulu Symphony (2024). Four new singles will be released Spring 2026.
Over the course of her career, which has spanned more than 20 years Aili Ikonen has been featured as a soloist by many prestigious orchestras in Scandinavia. She is also known for innovative collaborations with artists and bands such as Jukka Perko and Hector. Aili Ikonen is also a member of the vocal group Rajaton.
In 2021 a songbook called Aili Ikonen Songbook - Nuori vapaa nainen, consisting of Ikonen’s compositions, was released.
