Cristina Materassi (b. 1997) is an artist and museum mediator based in Turin. She explores the polyphonies and multiple narrative forms of space as tools to rethink places and the structures that govern them. Through situated interventions and the use of language as an operative material, she brings to light thresholds and tensions within places.
Her work, rooted in educational practices and in social and cultural design, takes on a process-based and relational dimension. She currently collaborates with the Education Department of the Fondazione Mario Merz and with the social enterprise Arteco.
She holds a BA from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze and an MA in Visual Arts from the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino. Since 2021, she has been co-founder and curator of Corrispondenze (Boscaini - Materassi).
