He was born in 1975.
In 1988 Sayadaw ordained as a novice in Kaw Lin Township, Sagaing Division, Myanmar.
In 1995 Sayadaw received Higher Ordination on 15 March 1995 in Bahan Township, Yangon, Myanmar.
In 1998 Sayadaw obtained the government authorized Dhammācariya degree.
In 2003 Sayadaw obtained the Abhivaṃsa degree in Yangon in 2003. (This is why his name ends in (a)bhivamsa. This is said to be an equivalent to a PhD.
In 2015-Present Pa-Auk Meditation Centre (Pwin Oo Lwin), Mandalay, Myanmar. Currently is the Meditation Teacher (Kammaṭṭhānācariya) at Pa-Auk Meditation Centre (Pwin Oo Lwin).
