I'm an astrophysicist working at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester, UK. My research interests focus on the detection and characterisation of exoplanets (planets around other stars) and on developing better strategies for the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI).
Whilst I take my work very seriously I don't mind sometimes making a fool of myself in the cause of science. I occasionally dress up in an eye-watering alien costume to give talks. I've even been known to (attempt) stand-up comedy. You may find some evidence of this in the playlist.
Basically, I enjoy talking about what I do to anyone who'll listen!
