Biography
Euroseeds is a non-profit association for the seed industry in the European Union and the European Economic Area. An umbrella organization of national seed associations and individual seed companies, their members represent all aspects of the European seed industry including research, plant breeding, and the production and marketing of seeds of agricultural, horticultural and ornamental plant species. It was founded in November 2000 and was granted the legal status of international non-profit International Association (AISBL) according to Belgian law in April 2002. Its headquarters are located in Brussels, Belgium.

Euroseeds is the voice of the European seed industry, representing the interests of those active in research, breeding, production and marketing of seeds of agricultural, horticultural and ornamental plant species.
Euroseeds's mission is to work for:
- fair and proportionate regulation of the European seed sector
- freedom of choice for customers (farmers, growers, industry, consumers) in supplying seeds as a result of innovative, diverse technologies and production methods
- effective protection of intellectual property rights relating to plants and seeds.
Today, Euroseeds represents more than 100 members from EU Member States and beyond. Euroseeds's membership comprises national seed association, individual direct company members, both multi-national as well as specialised small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), and associate members from seed related industries, media and academia and from outside of Europe.
