The organization is a no-kill shelter committed to rescuing stray and abandoned animals and facilitating adoptions. Animals that are not adopted may remain at the kennel indefinitely without consequence.

The Lange Foundation (a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization) was founded in 1993 by Gillian Lange, recipient of the 1980 City of Los Angeles St. Francis of Assisi award for her rescue work with impounded animals since 1974. Lange also founded the Amanda Foundation in 1975.
Lange Foundation has two locations: the Halfway Home Kennel in West Los Angeles and St. Bonnie's Sanctuary in Santa Clarita.
We are dedicated to saving impounded companion animals from overcrowded City and County shelters in the Los Angeles area. Every animal is well taken care of as we prepare them for their journey to a new, safe, and loving world.
