Mocked Monkey is an independent songwriting project born in Bologna from an idea by Alessandro Falchi. After years of collaborations in other projects and a period of study, writing, and experimentation (on stage and in the streets), the first album Marasma was released in 2025.
Marasma is a concept album that tells a story centered on listening, and on how, in today’s society, the importance and the ability to truly listen are often underestimated.
The protagonist runs away from everyone and everything, refusing to listen not even to himself and the voices in his head which grow more and more insistent as the story unfolds. His escape leads him close to self-destruction.
The project was born in the streets, where the audience doesn’t buy a ticket, and when they choose to stay, they are truly listening.
In a world full of noise, choosing to listen is an act of love.
