Biography

The National Football Foundation (NFF) is a non-profit organization to promote amateur American football on all levels throughout the United States and develop "the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, competitive zeal and the drive for academic excellence in America's young people". It was founded in 1947 with early leadership from General Douglas MacArthur, longtime Army Black Knights football coach Earl Blaik and journalist Grantland Rice.

Through the NFF’s programs and initiatives that encompass a broad spectrum of amateur football, the organization preserves the past, promotes the present, prepares for the future, and protects the game and opportunities it provides. These national programs and initiatives include but are not limited to: Future For Football, Good in The Game, I Played, National High School Academic Excellence Awards & Hatchell Cup, National Scholar-Athlete Awards and Campbell Trophy, a nationwide Chapter System, and NFF College Football Hall of Fame.
