The Panathlon Foundation is a charity that gives children with disabilities and special needs in England, Wales and Northern Ireland opportunities to engage in competitive sport that they are so often otherwise denied.

Panathlon gives thousands of young people with disabilities and special needs every year the opportunity to take part in competitive sport.
Our multi-sport, swimming, football, boccia and ten-pin bowling programmes give participants the opportunity to represent their school in sporting competition that they are so often otherwise denied. Our events have a transformational impact on participants’ skills, self-esteem, confidence, health and wellbeing.
Prior to Covid-19, we were on track to beat our record annual participation figure of 22,000 competitors in 2019/20. After the virus struck, we adapted by launching of our Virtual Programme, which had over 25,000 entries in 300 schools in its first term.
In addition, we had 2030 specially-trained Young Leaders who supported their younger peers by guiding and officiating the activities within schools.
