Ramin Hosseinpour (Persian: رامین حسینپور), born on March 20, 1987, in Tehran, Iran, is an internationally recognized Iranian film director, architect, and composer, best known for blending cinema with architecture, and rock music. He holds a Ph.D. in Architecture and also earned Bachelor's degrees in Film Directing and Music. Beyond cinema, he is active as an architect, conceptual artist, and rock vocalist.
Hosseinpour has received over 69 international awards, including: Semi-Finalist – Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival (Academy Award®, BAFTA, and CSA qualifying); Winner of the 2025 Jury Award for Best Short Documentary (TINFF – CSA qualifying), among others.
His earlier works include the experimental short films Ghanimat (2014) and Eshtiagh (2017). He is currently developing The Pretender, an avant‑garde short animated documentary about Attar of Nishapur in the 13th century, centered on a symbolic interpretation of the Seven Cities of Love.
