Pantries in schools, churches, senior living facilities, and community action organizations provide food to people experiencing hunger in their neighborhoods. Mobile food pantries bring food to food deserts and rural areas. Backpack programs send 3,000 children home every weekend during the school year with six healthy, kid-friendly meals to combat hunger away from school. The Food Bank leverages buying power by collaborating with manufacturers, distributors, grocers, and federal food programs to make FIVE meals for every $1 donated by generous community members. River Bend Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization in the area and distributes nearly 20 million meals to people in 23 counties every year. Working together, we WILL feed people today and end hunger tomorrow.
