Biography
Southern All Stars , also known by the abbreviations Southern and SAS, are a Japanese rock band formed in Shibuya in 1975. Lead vocalist and guitarist Keisuke Kuwata, keyboardist and vocalist Yuko Hara, bassist Kazuyuki Sekiguchi, drummer Hiroshi Matsuda and percussionist Hideyuki Nozawa have been together since 1977. The guitarist Takashi Omori was a member from 1977 to 2001. The band has occasionally gone on hiatus while its members work on other projects.

1979年「いとしのエリー」の大ヒットをきっかけに、日本を代表するロックグループとして名実ともに評価を受ける。数々の記録と記憶に残る作品を世に送り続け、時代とともに新たなアプローチで常に音楽界をリードする国民的ロックバンド。
これまでに16作のオリジナル・アルバムと、55作のシングル・パッケージ、9曲のデジタル・シングルを発表。2025年1月から5月にかけて全国13ヶ所を巡るアリーナ＆ドームツアー「THANK YOU SO MUCH!!」を開催し、3月19日に16作目となるオリジナルアルバム「THANK YOU SO MUCH」をリリース。6月にはデビュー47周年を迎えた。
