West Metro Fire Rescue provides fire protection and emergency medical services to communities in Douglas and Jefferson counties in Colorado. The district is located within the Denver metropolitan area. The department is also the sponsoring agency for the Urban Search and Rescue Colorado Task Force 1, housed at West Metro's Training Center. In 2018, the department responded to 34,222 calls for service.

The District also serves sections of Jefferson and Douglas County and unincorporated Littleton, Colorado.
West Metro Fire Rescue (WMFR) was created in 1995 after the community voted to consolidate the Lakewood Fire Protection District and Bancroft Fire Protection District.
We have more than 400 full-time firefighters who staff 17 stations with 50 civilian staff members. Our District covers more than 108 square miles.
