Founded in 1879, the Wisconsin Humane Society's mission is to make a difference for animals and the people who love them. WHS is a 501(c)(3) organization and operates animal shelters in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Door, Brown, and Kenosha Counties, as well as a spay/neuter clinic in West Allis. WHS annually serves more than 65,000 animals and their families. We are an independent nonprofit. We receive no general government funding and there is no national umbrella group in animal welfare.
