The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is a Swiss-based international non-governmental organization founded in 1961 that works in the field of wilderness preservation and the reduction of human impact on the environment. The official name of the Swiss umbrella organization and in some countries is World Wide Fund for Nature following a renaming, while World Wildlife Fund remains the official name in other countries including Canada and the United States.
