Prizewinner in the 1993 Naumburg competition, Yehonatan Berick's performing and teaching career spanned three decades. His concerts of solo violin repertoire included complete cycles of the Bach Sonatas & Partitas, Ysaÿe Sonatas, and Paganini Caprices, as well as extensive touring and recording. As a chamber musician he played with the Lortie-Berick-Lysy Piano Trio, the LA Piano Quartet, the Huberman String Quartet, and the AYR Piano Trio, and collaborated with artists such as Menahem Pressler, Paul Neubauer and Peter Wiley. A noted pedagogue, Yehonatan served on the faculties of the Eastman School of Music, and the Universities of McGill, Michigan, Toronto and Ottawa. Originally from Holon, Israel, his main teachers included Ilona Feher, Henry Meyer, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Dorothy Delay, and Yair Kless.
